About The Exhibition

Via ysl.com

Jeremy Shockley considers painting as a form of storytelling. Influenced by the literary techniques of magical realist writers, he renders the impossible and the surreal in a matter-of-fact way.

The selection includes paintings that were made over the last year, except for ‘The Sunsetter’ that was the artist’s first larger scale painting in almost a decade, as well as the first ‘Large Buddy’ or face painting. ‘The Sunsetter’ serves as a starting point for the rest of the paintings being shown.

Jeremy Shockley’s ‘The Sunsetter’ was exhibited at Spring/Break Art Show, which lead to a show of large scale works at Danny First’s The Bunker in Los Angeles and a solo show with The Hole in New York City.

A selection of ten paintings will be available for sale in the Saint Laurent Rive Droite store in Los Angeles. A t-shirt, totebags, and postcards will also be available for sale.
